Impressions about plant

April 23, 2022
Day 1 of week 3. She looks absolutely amazing. I ended up snipping off a few dying leaves and one that was just blocking everything in the center of her canopy. Let's hope it doesn't stress her too much. I still haven't seen any stress through the entire grow. So let's hope that continues and she stays as strong as she is. I was kinda hoping for her to be around 20". Oh well, still some good sized buds and plenty of time. Nutrients are the same as last week except for the flower booster. I increased that to 1/2 does. The second Blumat is keeping her soil moisture what I feel is perfect. Feeding hasn't changed either. Still bottom feeding every morning with around 100ml nute feed. I might check her out later on today to see if she needs more water. With the swelling and stacking going crazy, I'm wondering if she actually does need a bit more bottom watering. Like 150ml or something.

This morning was basically the same as yesterday. She's putting on some heft and is still perfectly healthy. I believe I stopped the issue with the leaf tips. All good for now. She looks super healthy and happy. I'm getting a couple of orange tipped pistils, so she's perfect in my book. She ended up around 12" total after LST. Next grow, I think I'm going to wait until week 3 of veg. And based on this girl, I'd get much more height with the extra week. I'd say a total of 18" inches if my stats are correct. Obviously not perfect as there are other factors. But that is my guess. Then I'd get a whole lot more space for LST and to get those branches evenly spread. I'm going to keep using the diluted solution until it's gone. I don't have a bunch anyway, so that should keep her feeding levels more even. I guess it was a good idea to stick with distilled water only. And I'm using PH perfect nutrients. Either way, I believe I caught whatever the issue was and fixed it. So I will check in if anything significant happens. I doubt it.

Today I'm just leaving her alone. Grow tent temp is a bit high at 78.7° F and humidity is 40%. I'd rather the temp be around 75 to 76. I'm happy with the humidity though. Feeding intake is nice and steady. She's definitely no longer stretching. And bud production is increasing daily. I did take a rough measurement of the colas yesterday. They are all about 5 inches tall. They are all making nice cone shapes and getting longer and fatter everyday.

I noticed a bit of nutrient burn last night. It seems to have stopped, after I diluted the reservoir and my hand watering tools. The blumats are still in to keep that constant flow of fresh substrate. I'm hand watering a bit extra to help clear out the excess nutrients. I also raised my grow light up an inch and a half just incase of light burn. I doubt it though. Nute burn seems to be the issue. I'll see how she's doing over the next couple of days. If she doesn't get any worse, I might lower the light down again. 10.5" seems to be the sweet spot for light intensity. 850 par or umols or whatever. The reading is spot on with the chart I found. 45k to 65k lux or 800 par to 950ish. Lux at that spot is around 35k. Anyway, she is definitely getting fat buds and funnily enough, she lost a cola to her main cola. Highly entertaining. Can't wait to see the size of that one when she's ready for harvest. Even with the nutrient burn and yellowing tips, she is still super healthy and happy. I would guess in the next week or 2, her leaves with start yellowing. Based on my first grow, moonlight is matching her grow cycle. Based on my math and stats, I'd say she will be ready for harvest around May 14th. So that gives me about 18 days or roughly 2 and a half weeks. I'm also finding that the weight of moonlight is messing with the weight of soil moisture. In my opinion, it's annoying but very exciting for the yield. I'm now just guessing and hoping my blumats do the majority of the work. I still haven't seen a single sign of under watering stress. Definitely none for overwatering. But the nutrient burn makes perfect sense. It started with a half dose of flower booster. I kicked that right back down to 1/4 dose. As I said before it's currently diluted. But if need be, I can always add a bit more nutrients if need be. Maybe it's better to slow the nutrient intake. And gradually work it down to plain distilled water. I'd say over the next week and a half. That gives a week or so of absorbing nutrients that are still available. So maybe I will just leave it at that. Top off the reservoir with distilled and clear out the nutes from my hand watering tools. Currently they are diluted in half. And with autoflowers, less is more as I hear.

She seems to have doubled her bud fattyness. From last night to this morning there is so much bud. 2 of my other colas are completely caught up to her main cola. Quite much girth. I decided to roll my pot rim outside the pot. Much better. I should have done that in the first place instead of cinching it in. The soil was definitely too dry around the outside. I started watering the outside to add moisture throughout. Bottom feeding is now my go to until I can get a good idea on how much she is pulling in. I'm bottom feeding a little bit every couple of hours. Top feeding when she dries out and that happens pretty quickly. So I've been spraying the top and then watering about 50ml to 100ml as needed. I'm definitely not looking for runoff or anything. Just an even spread of moisture throughout the pot. Haha, I probably restricted her root growth. Lesson learned. Watch me somehow be a natural at DWC. I prefer numbers anyway. Next grow. Lol. Oh I also added Fish Shit conditioner to my nute mix. Supposed to help with bud production and such. Maybe it is helping.

She is doing her thing. Nice fat colas and still stacking kinda. She was definitely not getting enough water. So I took my girlfriend's smart bathroom scale. Hell yes! It makes total sense to me to just use a scale and find a good weight to stick with. 8.5 lbs is where I'm starting. She feels about right in weight. And I'm pretty sure the dry weight of the whole container from purchase is 5 or 6 lbs. So I just added enough water to increase the weight about 50% to 8.5lbs. seems to be just enough to start to moisten the outside soil. I'm watering the outside soil and letting that absorb. Bottomed feeding as well. As needed. She is definitely thirsty. My goal now is to keep her weight at 8.5. so I'll water at 8.2 if my blumats dont keep up.
Update: I may be foolish in just figuring this out now, but I just realized that 1500 ml weighs 3.3 lbs. So 8.5 is a perfect place to be. Hell yeah!

Last day of week 9. Moonlight drank up 1.4 lbs of water weight last night from 8.8 lbs. Calculating the weight to volume, she ended up drinking 635 ml in about 12 hours. That's 16% water volume taken in and evaporated. I topped her off back up to around 8.4. Lbs and added a small wet hand towel in the back of the tent to help keep moisture in the pot. She definitely fattened up last night and still has stacks forming all over. One of the colas is nearly double the size of a Bic lighter. Main cola is even bigger and significantly fatter. Pics do absolutely zero justice for the size of these colas (IMHO). Still going to keep an eye on her watering. Not really sure the blumats are working completely. But it's too late to take them out. One is definitely in there with the roots all around it. The new one is really loose and I don't think it's working. Most likely because I set it up at the wrong time and the wrong way. I snagged my air pump out of my DCW system and popped it in my reservoir to keep the solution mixed up nicely yesterday. It's definitely mixed and maybe it will help the blumats with their drip rate. At this point, I'm lost as to what is happening. Lol. Water level is dropping so I know the blumats are taking water, but not enough.
