Impressions about plant

April 9, 2022
Week 1 of flowering. I'm absolutely shocked that she hit the flowering stage on the same day as my first one. Totally wild. She's not as tall as I had hoped by her flowering stage, but i don't see anything wrong. She has had next to zero stress and and even when the main stem almost topped itself. I repaired her with tape and a splint. There were 2 other branches that I used those LST 90° bendy things. Both branches took really well at first. But they were looking restricted because of the clips. Cannot get them off, but I almost broke 1 and the tight fit helped keep it place to heal. The other one did this weird thing where the branch curved up then started pointing down and making a wave type thing. But I see no stress. Clipped the very 2 bottom fan leaves last night and the second node today. She doesn't seem to be stressed though, so I'm a bit confused. Depending on what she does tonight, I may skip a clipping tomorrow and resume the next day. I'll probably only work my way up to 4 nodes, maybe 5 if need be. I plan on keeping my PH Perfect nutes the same for the rest of the grow, but I'm also going to run half strength flower booster from aPotforPot next week for the rest of the grow. I changed my setup around for more efficiency moved my feed line for my Blumat more direct than around the back and side wall. I have it now in and straight down to the pot. I changed my light setup around as well. The stupid hanger things were riding up against the vent system and causing the light to be crooked. So instead I did the ratchet on the front and the other clippy end on the back. Wrapped them over the vent system and boom! Vent system lined up perfectly with an exhaust port. The grow light is much more stable and I believe can even go higher than before. I kept my clip fan aimed to the back opposite corner to help prevent smell escape and to continue air flow even when I'm working in the tent. I have the light about 18" from the canopy. I was thinking about lifting it to 22" just to hopefully get a bit of stretch. Not sure. Will have to see what she does.

She's growing quite well. Made some adjustments to her training to open up the canopy more. There are so many bud sites that are completely blocked. I am skipping clipping anything today. I'm just going to slowly open more space with tucking and adding tie downs. I might add a loose tie down to each branch and pull each one slightly over the rest of the week and let them grow into the training. I am a bit concerned about her container weight. It just seems really light. But again, she isn't showing signs of stress. At least not that I can see. The 3 small cracks in her branches and main cola are all healed and strong again. I will still remain cautious though.

Steady growth and almost time for the flower stretch or whatever it's called soon. I think I will remove her tie downs at the end of next week. I still have a bit to train her on. There is so much thick foliage. Hopefully the stretch will make her much easier to work with. I ended up cutting the 2 fan leaves on the 3rd node. Still not enough to open up the lower section. I'll wait til later on today to check out what I can move. I'm going to wait a couple days for the fan leaves on the 4th node. If I even need to at all. She will hopefully grow a decent amount in the next few days so I can avoid anymore cutting for now. I have been doing so well without stressing her out. I really don't think she was stressed at all, at least not visibly.

I know I was going to wait for the end of the week, but I dont want to sacrifice growth. So I removed the 3rd node fan leaves as planned. But I also removed all the tie downs and synched the top of the pot down to the soil. Should have done that a while ago. There was an immediate change in her. In 6 hours her lower branches started some major bud production and the whole plant is opening up. She was definitely restricted a bit. With all of those changes, she seems extremely happy. I have one last node with massive fans on it, so I will be snipping those off in the next few days. There are plenty of other fan leaves she can use. These ones just get in the way. Seeing some very nice pistils and stacks. I'm guessing she is starting her flowering stretch. Just in time for me to remove those tie downs and get her ready for some major stretching.

Wow. She looks really happy. The main cola is showing she will be really big. She has airflow all around, tons of bud sites and some hefty growth. Her stem is super thick and I just learned my compact internodal distance is a very good thing. I'm definitely going to have remove at the very least the 4th nodes top fan leaf. That leaf is covering the entire center of the canopy. Bending it won't work as it just heavily shades other areas and there's way too much foliage to tuck. Update: I decided to remove the two large fan leaves from the forth node. Much more light penetration and airflow. I've also noticed her feeding intake is increasing very nicely.

I added 1/4 strength flower booster from aPotforPot to my reservoir last night. I'll be increasing the dose to half strength gradually over the next week. I'm also going to change my advanced nutrients regime up from 1/3 dose to 1/2 dose in the next week as well. As for Moonlight herself, just an amazing plant. She is perfect if not a bit bushy. I will start clearing out some more of the larger fan leaves to keep light and air flow under the canopy. I'm not sure if she should be stacking already, but she is and fast. If she goes the same as her older sister there should be a total of 5 weeks flower. I can only imagine what she will look like at harvest. Hopefully colas bigger than my hands. 😏

It's the last day of week 7 and end of week 1 in flower. So far we have seen about an inch of growth over the week, stacking, flowering, lookin sexy and general good stuff. I was messing a bit with tucking last night and over did it a tiny bit. She got a little droopy, but was twice as strong this morning. I also mixed up her updated nutrient intake. I used that to top off my current reservoir. I'll keep topping off until the mix I have is almost gone. Then repeat until harvest. I don't think I'm going to do any more defoliation until absolutely needed. Everything is tucked as well as can be. In theory, I could clean up the canopy for more light penetration, but I don't think she's going to stay so dense. As she grows and stacks, the leaves will die off and the space will open up more. I have my 10 main colas showing and some extra smaller bud sites.
