25-8-2021: Yay, seed #4 germination! Just a day after orienting the root downward. This stage is when seed #2 got predated, so no putting it outside overnight!
27-8-2021: #4 had its first true leaves already yesterday. Still waiting on tiny #5.
28-8-2021: transplanted #4 into a small pot because a root had grown out of the peat pellet.

24.08.2021 - This morning the white root of seed #4 appeared above the peat pellet surface, growing sideways (no picture). With a toothpick, I gently moved the peat away from the sprout, and made a deeper hole, and the root dropped right in, correctly oriented.
Seed #5 is tiny (that's why I started it last), so I'm not surprised to see nothing yet.
Because of the moldy death of seed #3, I'm using distilled water on these two.
They are not really outdoors, but the journal format doesn't offer a choice of indoor "windowsill." :-)
